Graphic Design Specialist

Under the Director of IT’s supervision, the Graphic Design Specialist create content and manage the operation, integrity, and security of the Digital Signage Systems for Show Management, Event Management, and Marketing. The specialist will have the primary responsibility to create to materials to support the advertising and operation of the Center.



  • Create and design content for the Center’s digital signage inventory.
  • Work closely with clients and sponsors to convey messaging in a creative and innovative manner.
  • Assist the Sales, Communications, Public Affairs and other departments in the development and graphic design of high-quality marketing, advertising, and other promotional collateral, for both digital and print media, in keeping with the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s branding and advertising guidelines.
  • Creative design projects include, but are not limited to;
    • Direct mail (flyers, pstcards, brochures, self-mailers, and invitations)
    • Newspaper, trade publicatin, and sponsorship advertisements, both digital and print
    • Annual Pennsylvania Cnvention Center publications and reports, including the Year In Review and Sustainability Report
    • E-mail marketing cntent
    • Scial media and digital content (web banners, pop-ups, social media graphics, GIFs, video content and other design elements) Branded promotional items
    • Internal cmmunication publications and devices, such as the Pennsylvania Convention Center Employee Newsletter, and “Heart of House” digital signage.
  • Assist with inventory control of all digital signage equipment.
  • Develop Standards of Procedure regarding logo usage, graphic standards, etc.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelors' degree preferred in Graphic Arts, Advertising, Marketing or related field and a minimum of 1-year experience in graphic/web design projects or equivalent combinations of education and experience.



  • Demonstrate excellent technical problem-solving, creativity, organization and learning skills. 
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Experience with print production and graphic design.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in web design, content management, basic print production process and how it affects design.
  • Display knowledge and techniques in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, After Effects), HTML and other related software. Additional experience with Video Editing software helpful. 
  • Ability to multi-task under extreme deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed.


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, After Effects), HTML and other related software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around PCC, at times, walking and/or standing up to 8-10 hours daily. The employee is regularly required to sit for long hours; using hand to handle files, type and operate offices machines; to talk and hear on the telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to handle contracts, other office correspondence, etc.
