When schools partner with AVID, they receive professional development, a suite of resources, and ongoing support to ensure a lasting impact that maximizes their return on investment. LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center
Ballroom AB & 200 Level Meeting Rooms

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service salons, from barbershops or at home. The first Great Clips salon was in the Dinkeytown area near the University of Minnesota campus.

Great Clips is a 100% franchised company with more than 4,200 salons across North America—each one offering a great haircut at a great location at a great price. We pride ourselves on making it easy for customers to get a great haircut at a time and place that’s convenient for them. That’s why we’re open evenings and weekends, no appointments necessary.

What sets us apart is how easy we’ve made it for customers to make Great Clips their salon of choice with our Online Check-In service, and Clip Notes®, a technology that allows stylists to keep notes on a customer’s haircut and is accessible at any Great Clips salon.

Great Clips franchisees employ nearly 40,000 stylists who receive ongoing training to learn the Great Clips customer care system and advanced technical skills. Our franchisees, their teams, and the corporate office are dedicated to our communities with a focus on philanthropic and volunteer activities through our Great Deeds® programs.

INFORMATION: https://events.jspargo.com/ASRM19/public/enter.aspx

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine was founded by a small group of fertility experts who met in Chicago in 1944. Distinguished members of ASRM have led the development of the field of reproductive medicine. They were the first physicians to perform many of the standard procedures used by fertility specialists today, including donor insemination and in vitro fertilization; they have developed new approaches to contraception and ovulation induction that are still in use; and they have helped form key legislation and fought for reproductive rights when public policy in reproductive matters did not exist.
Today, ASRM members reside in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 other countries. The Society is multidisciplinary, with members including obstetrician/gynecologists, urologists, reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, mental health professionals, internists, nurses, practice administrators, laboratory technicians, pediatricians, research scientists, and veterinarians. The ASRM has an administrative office in Birmingham, Alabama, and a public affairs office in Washington, D.C. Policy is set by an elected Board of Directors and implemented by an Executive Director and an accomplished staff.

National Portfolio Day 2019 / University of the Arts

DATE: Sunday, October 27, 2019
TIME: 10:00am-12:00pm Student Set Up
12:00pm-4:00pm Display Tables
LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center
Exhibit Hall A (2nd Floor)
INFORMATION: https://www.uarts.edu/national-portfolio-day

The National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) was created in 1978 solely for the organization and planning of National Portfolio Days. The Association consists of representatives that hold regional accreditation and accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), or Substantial Equivalency status. NPDA is the only organization of its kind and the membership represents the highest standard of visual arts education available in the world.

National Portfolio Days are annual events held in multiple locations across the United States, Canada and Europe. They are designed to provide a unique opportunity for you to meet individually with professional representatives of accredited colleges and universities and receive valuable feedback and guidance on your portfolio before you submit it as part of your application. Not all members attend all events. Visit nationalportfolioday.org for attendees. No admission decisions or scholarship awards will be offered to you at National Portfolio Days. Some college and university representatives may accept your portfolio as the visual portion of your application. Others have restrictions that prohibit them from making a definitive portfolio decision at the time of your review. All representatives will be happy to discuss their specific programs of study and provide answers to questions about the availability of scholarships and financial aid. You will not find National Portfolio Days to be an examination or competition, the events are about an exchange of information. The representatives want to learn about you, your work, and your post-secondary plans, all while informing you about their college or university and application requirements. These events may be the first time you have been in an environment with so many people in one place who all share a powerful commitment to art and design. Use this as an opportunity to be inspired, to gain advice as to how to improve or present your portfolio, and to experience a small taste of what it is like to attend a professional art and design program.

ARMY-NAVY GALA INFORMATION:
DATE: December 13, 2019
TIME: TBA
LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center-Grand Ballroom & Grand Hall

The Army–Navy Game is an American college football rivalry game between the Army Black Knights of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and the Navy Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. The Black Knights and Midshipmen each represent their service's oldest officer commissioning sources. As such, the game has come to embody the spirit of the interservice rivalry of the United States Armed Forces. The game marks the end of the college football regular season and the third and final game of the season's Commander-in-Chief's Trophy series, which also includes the Air Force Falcons of the United States Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colorado

The epic Army-Navy game makes its return to Philadelphia. Cadets from West Point and Midshipmen from Annapolis will square off at Lincoln Financial Field for a matchup between the historic rivals.
Traditionally played on the second Saturday in December, the heated bout often marks the last game of the season for both teams.
Though the big game is the main event, attendees won’t want to miss out on the many special events and competitions taking place over the weekend, many of which are free and open to the public.

Pink Invitational - Unite for HER

COMPETITION DATES: February 21-23, 2020
LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center
GYMS: Halls D + E (2nd Level)
BOX OFFICE: Hall E Entrance (2nd Level)
VENDOR DISPALYS: Broad Street Atrium (1st Level)

INFORMATION: https://uniteforher.org/events/pink/

Each year over 3,500 gymnasts participate in the Pink Invitational and over 12,000 attendees gather in unity to honor and celebrate the lives of those touched by breast cancer. 100% of the net proceeds from the Pink Invitational go directly to caring for the physical and emotional needs of breast cancer patients in the local and gymnastics communities through Unite for HER nonprofit organization.
When long-time gymnastics coach Sue Weldon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, she began searching for information on therapies that would complement the medical treatments she was receiving. What she discovered was a lack of easily accessible resources on topics like nutrition, acupuncture, massage, yoga, counseling and other ways for breast cancer patients to enhance their wellness and care for their emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.
In 2009 Sue created the Pink Invitational~Gymnasts Unite fundraising and outreach event with the support and partnership of her gym AJS Pancott Gymnastics. Sue recognized that gymnastics events offer a unique opportunity to encourage breast health awareness among girls and young women while raising funds in support of women affected by breast cancer and their families.
The Pink Invitational unites gymnasts in a USA- sanctioned meet where athletes compete in a sport they love while supporting breast cancer initiatives and learning about the importance of lifelong wellness. Proceeds from the event enabled Sue to found Unite for HER non-profit organization later that year.
Unite for HER was created to bridge the gap for breast cancer patients, funding and delivering complementary therapies to women affected by breast cancer at no cost to the participant. Each year Unite for HER raises funds to support the Wellness Program and support women affected by breast cancer in Philadelphia region and nationwide through the HER care box program. The Pink Invitational is Unite for HER’s largest fundraising event, supporting over 60 percent of the organization’s programming and outreach.

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a professional society of clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in Parkinson's disease, related neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders, hyperkinetic movement disorders, and abnormalities in muscle tone and motor control.
In recent years, there has been tremendous growth in new diagnostic information, pharmacological and neurosurgical treatments for movement disorders, as well as a greater understanding of impaired motor control function. MDS offers you and your patients an essential link to this knowledge.
In 1985, the Movement Disorder Society was founded on the initiative of Professors Stanley Fahn and C. David Marsden, whose leadership and vision guided the expansion of clinical expertise and research in this field. This not-for-profit organization merged in 1992 with the International Medical Society for Motor Disturbances. Publication of the journal Movement Disorders began in 1986, and the first International Congress was held in Washington, D.C., in 1990.
In 2013, The Movement Disorder Society officially changed its name to the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, in order to recognize the growing importance of Parkinson’s disease care and research within the field of Movement Disorders
