WSF-Liberty Bell Classic Championship

DATE: Saturday, February 17, 2018
LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center
Hall C (2nd Floor)
TIMES: Times TBA

WSF is widely recognized as the original "Innovators" in the cheer and dance industry. Founded in 2001, the original company vision was to offer high quality events for coaches, by coaches.
WSF has a long track record of industry firsts. In 2004, we were an inaugural company member of the NACCC and in 2005 we hosted the first "bid event" for all our championship clients in Las Vegas that was a culmination of that competition season, and a true “Championship of Champions.” WSF was also the first company to bring “FREE” admission to the spirit industry. Parents, coaches and cheerleading enthusiasts everywhere raved about this initiative and many other event producers have followed suit with free admission programs since that time.
Our belief that technology could be better used to enhance the competitive experience of our clients led to the creation of our WSF digital scoring system.
2006 marked the year of our $50,000 cash prize give away. Teams from all over the United States competed at multiple WSF events for an unprecedented cash reward.
In 2007, with the global green movement at an all-time high WSF once again looked to technology to provide greater customer service by offering the 1st ever online registration process for our events. With less paperwork to complete, and an integrated process competing with WSF was now easier than ever before, and again our competitors followed our lead changing the way teams register for events industry wide.
In 2008 and 2009, we shifted our focus to the judging component of our championships. We were determined to elevate this crucial part at competitive events. Not only did we develop the first ever comprehensive scoring ranges that followed the USASF Guidelines and then in 2009, we introduced and created first ever judges visual voice critique for coaches.
As we approach our first decade of providing high quality, state-of-the art competition experiences for the world's best cheerleaders and dancers one thing remains certain. WSF remains the “Innovators in Cheer and Dance”!

Unite for HER founder Sue Weldon, a breast cancer survivor and long-time gymnastics coach, recognized that gymnastics events offer a unique opportunity to encourage breast health awareness among girls and young women while raising funds in support of women affected by breast cancer and their families.
In 2009, with the support and partnership of AJS Pancott Gymnastics, Unite for HER created the Pink Invitational~Gymnasts Unite fundraising and outreach event. The Pink Invitational unites gymnasts in a USA- sanctioned meet where athletes compete in a sport they love while supporting breast cancer initiatives and learning about the importance of lifelong wellness.
Each year over 3,000 gymnasts participate and 10,000 attendees gather in unity to honor and celebrate the lives of those touched by the disease. Be assured that 100% of the net proceeds from this meet go directly to caring for the physical and emotional needs of breast cancer patients in the local and gymnastics communities. The Pink Invitational is a three-day gymnastics competition featuring over 3,000 athletes from local and national USA Gymnastics teams, as well as a Friday night NCAA college meet. What makes the Pink Invitational a unique and inspiring experience is that these gymnasts find new and fun ways to promote solidarity and display their determination to care for women and families affected by breast cancer. All participants receive and compete in a special, one-of-a-kind competition leotard created by GK Elite Sportswear, sending a message of unity, hope and love. Our guests will also enjoy food concession, celebrity gymnast events, and vendors offering gifts, apparel, and educational information.

Dates: July 18-20, 2018
Locations: Pennsylvania Convention Center
Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel
Loew's Philadelphia Hotel
Times: Agenda times to follow on website
Information: http://www.avid.org/SummerInstitute.ashx

AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. Established more than 35 years ago with one teacher in one classroom, AVID today impacts nearly 1.5 million students in 46 states and 16 other countries/territories.

What AVID Does
Simply, AVID trains educators to use proven practices in order to prepare students for success in high school, college, and a career, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
How AVID Works
AVID brings research-based strategies and curriculum to educational institutions in elementary, secondary, and higher education. The AVID System annually provides 60,000+ educators with training and methodologies that develop students’ critical thinking, literacy, and math skills across all content areas throughout the entire campus, in what we call Schoolwide AVID.

AVID:
Teaches skills and behaviors for academic success
Provides intensive support with tutorials and strong student/teacher relationships
Creates a positive peer group for students
Develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination
As a result, policymakers and educators now consider AVID's mission to be an essential strategy for closing the achievement gap, making college access and success available to all students.
