Philadelphia Habitat Meeting

DATES: April 30, 2019
LOCATION: Pennsylvania Convention Center-Ballroom A & B
INFORMATION: http://www.habitatphiladelphia.org/luncheon

Locally, our mission is to transform lives and our city by building and repairing homes in partnership with families in need, and uniting all Philadelphians around the cause of affordable housing. Our vision is a city where all Philadelphians live in safe, affordable homes.
Globally, our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Our global mission statement: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Since 1985, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia has built or sold 213 affordable homes to first time homeowners in Philadelphia. The organization has strategically partnered with more than 500 families to make critical home repairs.

Each year, luncheon guests are inspired by the powerful stories of families who have built brighter futures for themselves through Habitat. Your support helps us build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

In 2018, we raised $396,032 to keep Habitat building and repairing even more homes in partnership with families in need, but it doesn't end there. In 2019 we intend to raise even more critical dollars to support Habitat families through building and repairing homes. We hope to see you at the Pennsylvania Convention Center this May!

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit that changes lives by helping schools shift to a more equitable, student-centered approach. We train 70,000 educators annually to close the opportunity gap, so they can prepare all students for college, careers, and life. AVID for Higher Education (AHE) proudly serves more than 26,000 students and their faculty in more than 50 two-year and four-year institutions of higher education in 16 states.

When schools partner with AVID, they receive professional development, a suite of resources, and ongoing support to ensure a lasting impact that maximizes their return on investment. AVID is not “one more thing to do”—our work with schools aligns with their goals to accelerate and enhance the work that is already happening.

Each year, more than 40,000 educators gather at one of 12 Institutes for AVID's premiere training event. In addition to learning from some of the top AVID educators, participants collaborate and share experiences with colleagues from other schools and plan their campus implementation strategy for the coming year.

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine was founded by a small group of fertility experts who met in Chicago in 1944. Distinguished members of ASRM have led the development of the field of reproductive medicine. They were the first physicians to perform many of the standard procedures used by fertility specialists today, including donor insemination and in vitro fertilization; they have developed new approaches to contraception and ovulation induction that are still in use; and they have helped form key legislation and fought for reproductive rights when public policy in reproductive matters did not exist.
Today, ASRM members reside in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 other countries. The Society is multidisciplinary, with members including obstetrician/gynecologists, urologists, reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, mental health professionals, internists, nurses, practice administrators, laboratory technicians, pediatricians, research scientists, and veterinarians. The ASRM has an administrative office in Birmingham, Alabama, and a public affairs office in Washington, D.C. Policy is set by an elected Board of Directors and implemented by an Executive Director and an accomplished staff.
