How do I order Electrical Service?
  • First determine which service will be needed 120, 208 or 480 volt.
When do I order 120 volt service?
  • 120 volt (110 volt and 115 volt) service is considered basic electrical, the same type service you find in home and office. You will order 120volt service for lights and standard office equipment or home appliances.
Where does 120 services originate?
  • Back center of In-line and Peninsula booths. Floor ports in Island booths.
How do I order 120 volt service?
  • 120 volt service is ordered in 1000 watt or 2000 watt receptacles. Determine the total amount of power in watts for 120 volt service.
  • Example:
    3- 100 watt light bulbs = 300 watts
    1 - computer w/monitor = 500 watts
    1 - TV with VCR = 500 watts
  • Total = 1300
  • You would order one 2000 watt outlets If the total came to 2100 watts you would order one 2000 watt and one 1000 watt service.
What is 208 and 480 volt service?
  • 208 and 480 volt service is generally needed for motor machinery and equipment.
Where does 208 and 480 services originate?
  • All 208 service up to 100 amps originates from the floor above 100 amps originates from the ceiling. 480 service up to 100 amps originates in floor, 480 service above 100 amps originates from the ceiling.
When do I order 208 or 480 volt service?
  • Mostly for machinery determined by checking the electrical specification on the equipment.
  • Each machine will require a separate service with connection and exhibitor provided disconnect with over current protection.
When do I order 24 hour service?
  • All power to exhibits is turned off daily 30 minutes after the close of the show When you have electronic equipment that need to stay on, perishable refrigerated foods, machinery that circulates water or I've fish ponds 24 hour services is required.
When do I need to complete an Electrical Labor Order?
  • Electrical distribution under carpet from service origination.
  • 208 and 480 volt service connections to equipment.
  • Installation of exhibitor owned lighting fixtures, track lights and power tracks theatrical lights and truss in and over exhibits.
  • Electrical distribution overhead and/or connection to dimmers including theatrical lights used as spots or floods.
  • Wiring and hanging of overhead electrical signs.

 

Plumbing

How do I order Plumbing Services?
  • Plumbing services are water, drain and compressed air lines.
Where does Plumbing Services originate?
  • Back center of In-line and Peninsula booths. Floor ports in Island booths. A floor plan and Labor Order will be required for distribution under carpet.
Who will make the final connection to services?
  • A PCCA plumber will make all final connections to equipment.
Will I be charged for the connection to my equipment?
  • Yes, Labor and materials, tubing, fittings will be charged.
 
Internet/Technology
Can we bring our own cables and hubs?
  • Yes
Can we network our own computers?
  • Yes, if it is 5 computers or less. 6 or more must be done by union electricians. In addition, all cables run under carpet must be done by union electricians.
Can we set up our own computers?
  • Unlimited laptops - yes 5 or less PCs - show floor or classroom (yes) - 6 or more PCs - show floor or classroom (no)
What are my choices in terms of Internet access?
  • You have multiple choices:
    Analog line for a dial-up modem;
    High-speed hotspots;
    DSL at 1.5 mbps or DSL at 756 kbps;
    NEW FastLink Service which can provide upto 3mbps access to the Internet.
Which of these choices are the least expensive?
  • Wireless, DSL & 768kbps, and Analog (phone line).

Which Internet options are the fastest? .
  • DSL at 1.5mbps and our Fastlink Service (up to 3mbps) are our premiere Internet services related to speed
   
Hotspot FAQs
What is the SSID of your hotspot network?
  • For the free hotspot network, the ssid is "pcca"
Can I use other applications besides my web browser?
  • Yes. After signing in using your web browser, you can access the Internet normally using any TCP/IP-enabled client application such as Eudora, telnet, ssh, etc. There are no filters or limits on your outbound Internet access once you have signed in.
 
Telecommunications (Voice, Credit card, Fax lines)
If I order a voice line, can I use it for a fax machine?
  • You can use our analog voice lines for either a fax line or a voice line.
What do I need to do to program my credit card machine for out bound calling?
  • You need to program your credit card machine with a-9- to make out side calls. If you are having a problem with this programming you can contact the customer service number located on your machine and they will help you with programming.
We would like to prevent people from making long distance phone calls from our phone lines, is this possible?
  • Yes, we can restrict your phone line for local calling only.
Does the price listed on the order form include the labor charge?
  • Labor charges are included in our pricing, services are delivered to the back of both unless a floor plan is included. A $50.00 move charge will apply.
Will I incur any additional charges beyond the cost of the telephone line?
  • No, all usage fees are included in the cost of the telephone line.
