PHILADELPHIA (September 17, 2004) – Dittie Florenza Guise has been named Chief Operating Officer for the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.
Guise, who was named one of the most influential African Americans in the hospitality community, has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the industry. Formerly General Manager of the SMG-Greater Columbus Convention Center, she has a comprehensive knowledge of general management, public relations, sales and marketing, event coordination, operations and strong team-building skills.

PHILADELPHIA…July 14, 2004… The NAACP Chairman of the Board, Julian Bond, found an old memory in the Pennsylvania Convention Center art collection. Mr. Bond was in Philadelphia for the NAACP 95th annual convention held at the Center this week. Pennsylvania Convention Center’s Chairman of the Board, Michael Nutter, President, Al Mezzaroba and Director of Sales, Stephanie Boyd presented Mr. Bond with a photograph of himself taken in 1940 with singer, actor and civil rights activist, Paul Robeson.

2003 Philadelphia International Auto Show Shatters One-Day Convention Center Attendance Record!
PHILADELPHIA, January 28, 2002 – The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) today announced attendance results for the 2003 Philadelphia International Auto Show, noting a total of 231,609 show-goers and a new record for single day attendance. The Philadelphia International Auto Show, which parked at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from January 11-19, brought in a record 54,150 show-goers on Saturday, January 18, beating a Pennsylvania Convention Center record by over 7,000 and bringing in approximately 13,000 more attendees than any other single day in Auto Show history.

Joan and Leonard Bernstein (APWA Delaware Valley Chapter) who initiated the collection of funds for NY firefighters and police. They collected almost $4,000. Leonard works for the City of Philadelphia Water Dept. APWA hosted it's annual convention here at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
As city governments around the country, including Philadelphia, struggled to come up with appropriate reaction plans to Tuesday's terrorist attacks, many of the people with such know-how were stranded in the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City.
