June 27, 2008/ Project Updates The Community Outreach and the Mandatory Pre Bid meetings for Bid Package # 2 have been rescheduled for July 9th in room 108. The Community Outreach Meeting will start promptly at 9:00am and the Pre Bid will follow at 10:30am. Support Services will be available for these meetings, and the opportunity for a site tour. PENNSYLVANIA CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY INVITATION TO BID Notice is hereby given that the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, (the “Authority”) is soliciting Bids from General Contractors for Contract 2 – General Construction. Bid Documents are available as of June 23, 2008. The Scope of Work shall include the General Construction portion of the project including the exterior facade and curtain wall systems, interior fit-out, vertical transportation, and all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems of the new 935,000 sq. ft expansion and an 30,000 approximate square feet renovation to the existing Pennsylvania Convention Center. Contractors submitting a bid on the Project must provide a qualification statement at time of Bid.
upon the non-refundable payment of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per set in the form of a check made payable to The Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.
If an award is made as a result of this invitation to Bid, the Authority will award the General Construction Contract 2 work to the responsive bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid, as determined in the sole discretion of the Authority. June 24, 2008 The Pennsylvania Convention Center Expansion is officially underway. Bid package # 1 is being reviewed and the presumptive low bidder will be announced shortly . The demolition and site preparation activities are drawing to a close. The construction managers have released bid documents #2, to pre-qualified general contractors. The outreach meeting for bid package # 2, will be Friday June 27, 2008 at 9:00am at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 108B, 12th and Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19107 (west entrance). The contractors will be to available meet with you one on one following the presentation. You will also have an opportunity to meet one on one with organizations that provide technical assistance, financing, bonding and safety.
The scope of work for this phase of the Expansion Project includes but is not limited to, the selective demolition, architectural precast concrete, brick and CMU masonry, structural curtain wall systems, aluminum, metal siding and roofing. Exterior Work also includes replacing curbs, sidewalks, and street surfaces, hard and soft landscaping. Interior construction consists of CMU masonry, metal framing systems, operable partition systems, and various finish systems. Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection, Electrical, Fire Alarm, Communication, Way Finding (signage), Security, and Data systems, also included is a storm water detention system.
