PCC Art Collection

The Pennsylvania Convention Center takes great pride in its unique collection of contemporary art. No other convention center in the U.S. maintains such a vibrant, diverse, and challenging selection of artwork on permanent display. The $2 million public collection, reflective of the rich ethnic and cultural diversity which exists in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, represents the lived artistic experience of twenty-one women and thirty-one men, three Asian Americans, eight African Americans, and two Latin Americans.

These intriguing examples of contemporary American art, representing a variety of media from painting to sculpture, woodworking to jewelry, are punctuated throughout the 1.3 million square foot Pennsylvania Convention Center. The New York Times and Art in America have described pieces in the collection as "a new expansive freedom of imagination", and as "evoking the heavens." The collection, consisting of seventy-three purchased art works, and eighteen site-specific installations, offers conventioneers a veritable museum in which to spend their free time. There are also free public tours of the collection. For more information about the tour, please contact Coordinator of Visitor Services at 215.418.4700 or send us an e-mail.
